Dear friends,
There are lot of Martial arts in this world. Some are ancient and and some are modern. But in my point of view Kung-fu, Taekwondo, Thai Boxing, Karate, Judo, and Ninjitsu are the most famous martial arts in the modern society.
How can I say, which one is the Best..?.!
I have don some Kung-fu and Taekwondo and I would say those are the best. If anyone say no.....ring is open buddy..!!!!

  14. This is a very interesting topic... but it is also an old one.
The answer to the question "what is the best martial art?" has already been answered.

There are 3 major fighting styles. Striking, Grappling and Wrestling.
Kung-Fu, Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing are striking arts and are based on hitting your opponent.
Aikido, Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ)are grappling styles where you apply joint locks and chokes to incapacitate your opponent.
Greco-Roman, freestyle are wrestling styles where you try to control the movement of your opponent by taking him/her to the ground and finishing with a joint lock, choke or strikes.

Striking arts such as Boxing, Kung-Fu, Karate and Taekwondo have a major weakness in them... they only teach you how to fight on your feet. If you fall to the ground there are very few techniques to help you. It has been found that overwhelming majority of fights end up going to the ground. The laws of physics govern this fact. So a person who is proficient at fighting on the ground will win against a striker if he can avoid getting knocked out until he takes the fight to the ground.... which again is only a matter of time if the striker does not have adequate take-down defense.

So martial arts such as Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Wrestling have emerged to be dominant over striking styles.

People have also found out that a combination of fighting styles can make them better than any single fighting style. Hence, the rise of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

If you want to learn about this more, please read about the history of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

I am a karate black belt and have been training for more than 15 years now. I also thought my style was best until I opened my mind and faced the facts. In my opinion the best combination of martial arts are:
    Muay-Thai + Boxing + BJJ + Wrestling

  15. Ya brother you got a valid point. And it seems you’ve got lot stuff with you.
But I just think that certain people will connect more with a certain Martial Arts and consequently access more...So perhaps one would not have trained and devoted as well as someone else’s done. I always feel that a fighter's talent plays a big role and just a Martial Art styles shouldn't be compared, as they all had their places in history. I do however respect your opinion. But one thing you have to understand. Most of the martial arts got all 3 major fighting styles. Striking, Grappling and Wrestling in each Style in different forms. When you go deeper and deeper in a Martial Art; you would understand that all Martial Arts’ roots are focusing to a same destination. This is not valid just for a sport; it’s better to get real idea about the difference of a Martial art and a Sport. Anyway it’s better to know many than one.
About me I have done Kung-Fu for more than 10 years and received a division ‘A’ certificate and Taekwondo for more than 13 years under at least 6 Korean Masters and holding a black belt for it. Was the National champion for 6 times in Sri Lankan National championships, won a S.A.F. medal on 1999 at Kathmandu, Won a Silver medal from World Open Taekwondo Champion ships held on Selangor, Malaysia on 2002. And also slightly trained Boxing, Judo, Wrestling and little Jeet-Kun-Do too.
Mixed Martial Arts are using for the Military and We calling it Unarmed Combat or Defensive Tactics. In the STF we train our trainees for UC. You’ll see some photographs in Image slide show.
By the way I appreciate your interest and comments dude…!!
